Kirkistown is the only RAC approved motor racing circuit in Northern Ireland, opened by the 500 Motor Racing Club of Ireland in 1951. Based on the runways and taxiways of a disused war time airfield it hosts a great variety of motor sport competitions including motorcycle, rallycross, kart and car racing. The circuit is 1.6 miles long and has been brought up to full safety standards. Extensive spectator facilities have been added recently.
